Dr. Alessandro Zuddas is Full Professor of Child Neuropsychiatry at the University of Cagliari, Italy
Prof. Zuddas earned is medical degree from the University of Cagliari, where he also completed the residences in Pharmacology and Child Neuropsychiatry. He did is basic neuroscience training as a Fogarty Fellow at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS-NIH) in Bethesda MD. After a period at the Institute of Pharmacology, University of Pisa, he has been Head of the Center for Pharmacological Therapies in Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Cagliari; since October 2011 Prof. Zuddas is also the director of the Child & Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Unit at the Cagliari University Hospital (currently “G. Brotzu” Hospital Trust) and the coordinator of the Resident Program in Child Neuropsychiatry at the University of Cagliari.
He is the Principal Investigator in a number of research studies on developmental psychopathology and psychopharmacology, including several EMA registrative clinical trials, four EU 7th Framework Program projects and, currently, an EU Innovative Medicine Initiative (IMI2) project.
Prof. Zuddas is the Chair of the ECNP Child & Adolescent Neuropsychopharmacology Network (recognized also by EnprEMA) and coordinates the ECNP Child & Adolescent Neuropsychopharmacology School. He is also member of the Editorial board of several International Journals in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
